I struggled with staying focused and a race and I did find it difficult to stay in the present, especially when things got hard in the race.

My brain would wander and I wouldn't be able to focus on executing or what I had to execute at that current time.

We're in training and the build up and lead up, you do repetitions and repetitions and something and then when it comes to the race, it all just like goes out the window.

So I did struggle with that quite a bit.

The peak method helped me discover a lot.

It made it clear that obviously performance is the whole physical side, but also there's the mental side, which, you know, you can train hard, you can do all of that stuff.

But showing me that I didn't really work on that mental side.

And as you know, like the mental side when it comes to trying to perform at a high level is, is such a big attribute and results.

So working with Russell has definitely made me understand that and we did a few sessions where Russell.

Put me in a light hypnosis state, which I haven't beaten before.

But essentially what I felt when I experienced that was I could really hone in and focus on what he was saying.

So he was just asking me questions if I had to do with training, my belief in myself, my performance, why things happen or why I felt that certain way.

So we kind of broke it down and then after we did all of that, I had a few practices that I had to take away from it and bring it into my training and my.

Competitions, which was great.

I definitely use it pretty much every session, especially for my hard sessions.

I definitely tap into like a different mental state, which Russell has taught me.

I think that practicing these things on a regular basis and then when I go into these competitions, when I do get into that mental state, when things get hard, I really can just focus on executing and staying in the present, which was definitely, as I said, one of the things I struggled.

But I find that with Russell and the peak method, it's definitely helped me get a better understanding on why I felt that way and how to approach it when those things do happen again in a race and where my brain goes and what to now think of.
